Altar Servers
Altar servers assist the priest during the celebration of the Mass. They are trained yearly. In order to be a server, one must be in the 4th grade or higher, be a responsible person and adhere to the Mass schedule.
A Letter from the Coordinator...
December, 2007
Dear Altar Server and Parents,
Servers: Just a reminder to be ready with the book when Fr. says “Let us pray”, to avoid any long pauses. When you retrieve the book from the table at the beginning of Mass, keep it in your hands so you are ready to move. After Communion, hold the book in your hands so you are prepared to walk up after announcements.
At the washing of the hands, be sure to pour a generous amount of water on Father’s hands. Present him with an OPEN towel and bow when he hands the towel back to you.
Thanks to ALL the servers and parents for your dedication to our parish. I have heard many positive comments on how well trained and attentive our servers are. Keep up the good work!
God bless you during this Advent Season and may the Christ Child bring much peace and happiness to your families this Christmas and into the New Year.
Sincerely, Linda Kozminski
