Sacrament of Confirmation for Adults
For a variety of reasons, many adult Catholics have missed the Sacrament of Confirmation. Sacramental preparation designed for adults will be offered during the Spring of 2008 at St. Alphonsus Parish. A series of five classes will be taught in preparation to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation.
Classes will be taught in the Office of Faith Formation office, use the Lafayette Street doors and parking lot. A schedule of class dates and time will be published later in the fall.

The Seven Sacraments: An overview of the Sacraments as initiation rites with an emphasis on Confirmation as initiation into a spiritual life.
The Seven Gifts of the Holy Spirit: An exposition of the gifts of the spirit as found in Isaiah Chapter 11.
The Eight Beatitudes: The internal and spiritual ethics of the New Covenant based on Matthew Chapter 15.
The Seven Works of Mercy: A life of service to Jesus by way of service to the least (neediest) of His community as found in Matthew Chapter 25.
Bishop Hurley will confirm candidates from a few different parishes on several dates at the Cathedral of St. Andrew. The Diocese will provide us with a date; the next date is scheduled for sometime in the Spring 2008.
