Youth Discipleship begins Sunday, September 27

3-6 Year-Old Discipleship: meets the first three weeks of each month
  9-10:15 a.m. at St. Alphonsus

1st-5th Grade Discipleship: meets the first three weeks of each month
  11:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Blessed Sacrament

6th-8th Grade Edge: meets every week
  5-6:15 p.m. at St. Alphonsus

9th-12th Grade Life Teen: meets every week
  6:45-8 p.m. at St. Alphonsus

Register for 2026-27 Discipleship

  • Children will participate in the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd in the Atrium at St. Alphonsus during the 9 a.m. Mass for the first three weeks of each month, except Christmas and Spring break. Parents drop off before 9 a.m. Mass and pick up their children in the Atrium at 10:15 a.m. following Mass. This program is intended for children up to 6 years old, with kindergarten being the highest grade level accepted. All children must be fully potty trained and should not wear pull-ups. After you register your child, the CGS leader will reach out to schedule a meeting with both you and your child before the program begins. This meeting will help evaluate your child's readiness and provide an orientation.

  • Children will meet from 11:45- 1:30 p.m. at Blessed Sacrament the first three weeks of each month, except Christmas and spring break, for Catechesis of the Good Shepherd. 

    Second grade disciples have a special year of preparing for their First Holy Eucharist and First Reconciliation. Please note the information below regarding this:

    The Sacrament of First Holy Eucharist will be celebrated at your child's home parish this year. You have two options for the ceremony:

    - May 1 at the 4 p.m. Mass at St. Alphonsus
    - May 2 at the 10:45 a.m. Mass at Blessed Sacrament

    The Sacrament of First Reconciliation will take place at Blessed Sacrament on March 7 at 4:30 p.m.

    Please note that additional sacrament formation events will also be scheduled. A Sacrament Formation Calendar will be provided to those who register their children for 2nd grade. ASA students in 2nd grade are encouraged to attend weekly formation sessions. It is essential for both you and your child to participate in the Sacrament Formation outlined on the provided calendar, which prepares for First Reconciliation and First Eucharist. We urge you to prioritize this commitment alongside other important aspects of your life. Forming you and your child's spiritual connection is crucial for these significant Sacraments and for living a fulfilling life.

  • Our middle and high schoolers will meet weekly at St. Alphonsus to grow in community, discipleship, prayer, and morals.

    Our Confirmation group will meet about once a month on Sundays following Mass (schedule coming soon!) Confirmation students are also expected to attend Edge. If your child preparing for Confirmation attends ASA, they are not required to attend Edge, but they are very encouraged to! They will need to attend our Confirmation sessions to prepare fully for the sacrament.
