Arts and Environment
Volunteers use their artistic talents to create and enhance the beauty of the church interior through each liturgical season. Volunteer opportunities include making banners, hanging decorations, assembling candle/flower arrangements and bringing new ideas to this ministry. Contact: Jodi Deschaine 616-364-8503

Lenten Fish Fry
Many Fish Fry volunteers are needed every Friday afternoon/evening during the Lenten season. Volunteer opportunities include shopping, preparing, cooking, serving, clean up and various other duties each week. Some prep work is need on Thursday evenings.  Contact: Parish Office

Funeral Luncheon
Funeral luncheons are prepared and served in the Parish Center. Volunteers are needed to set tables, prepare food, help serve and clean up after the luncheon. Volunteers are also needed to donate salads or desserts. Anyone over the age of 14 can volunteer. Contact: Phyllis Saganski, 616-451-4619 


St. Gerard’s Sew and Sew
Volunteers with sewing experience create prayer quilts, altar linens, felted mittens and work on many other sewing projects on Thursdays from 12:30-3:30 p.m. in the Parish Center. Projects can also be worked on at home.

Young at Heart Senior Program
Volunteers help with hospitality, plan activities, outings, presentations and crafts on Mondays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. This ministry is open to anyone willing to help.

Mitten Catholic: Young Adult Ministry

Fostering a vibrant, faith-centered community for those ages 21-33 in the Grand Rapids area.

Church Cleaners
Volunteers clean the church interior each week on Tuesday at 10:00am. Contact: Sandy Olsen, 616-340-1792


Angel Dusters
Volunteers clean the Parish Center classrooms and lounge on a weekly basis. Contact: Sandy Olsen, 616-956-1258


Garden Angels
Volunteers are needed to clean up and maintain the landscaped areas around the Parish campus.

Respect Life
40 Day for Life campaigns are held in spring and fall. The Focus on Life dinner is a fundraiser for Grand Rapids Right to Life held in October.  This ministry is open to anyone called to stand in the gap of the unborn, elderly and all life issues. Contact: Mary Reed, 616-322-4700


Knights of Columbus
Members have the opportunity to live the faith they profess, to be of service to their neighbors, church and community. Meetings are the second Wednesday of the month in the Parish Center. Men of the parish age 18 and older are welcome to join the Knights.

K of C Ladies Auxiliary
The Women’s Auxiliary is an extension of the parish Knights of Columbus. The Auxiliary works with the Knights to serve the parish and the community. Meetings are the third Tuesday of the month in the Parish Center at 6:30pm. Women of the parish age 18 and older are welcome to join the Auxiliary. Contact: Lisa Kraemer, 616-634-3889
